Muscular Male Models Biography

Muscular individuals who posses both muscle mass and definition can compete in the muscle model category. It is also for people who could take part in competitive bodybuilding if this is something in which they are interested. The category is good for people who wish to follow a career as a muscle model, or for people who currently participate in bodybuilding competitions and would like to promote themselves in the industry.

Muscle model search compares to bodybuilding and figure modeling in that the muscle model is more relaxed. Flexing is not required, and there is no routine either. Competitors do not need to be vascular or striated. Most importantly, it is a great way to prepare to be a bodybuilder, or a figure competitor as it gives athletes the chance to practice onstage, and to gain exposure.

The look:
What is important in this competition is the overall package of a competitor. Therefore, there is no one body type that tends to do extremely well in the competition. How one’s leanness, musculature, tone and fitness level complement your personality, physique and skeletal structure are key.

Judging:
The judges have a variety of criteria they look at when reviewing contestants. The contestant’s personality is significant. Confidence, charisma, a good attitude, as well as looking at ease on stage are all vital. But, of course, so are good muscle tone, posture and symmetry, attractive, marketability, and even a contestant’s outfit selection.

Symmetry and balance are very important. The upper versus the lower body, front versus back, and the ratio of chest to hips must all be kept in proportion to each other. The abs should be at least somewhat visible, but muscles should be smooth and the appearance of veins nominal. As for body fat and musculature, there is no set percentage that is acceptable in this competition. What is important is what suits each athlete best, in relation to his skeletal structure and frame.

Competitors are marked against each other, but individual points are given based on each competitor’s walk-out. Judged for their overall appearance, as well as poise, confidence and outfit, contestants must be comfortable on stage, as opposed to their bodybuilding equals. Athletes should enjoy being in the spotlight, and should let their personalities shine through.

Posing – Walk & Turns:
Competitors must perform a cycle of four quarter turns, and the type of turn is chosen by the athlete. Athletes are showing off for the judges, and they should practice positions that show off their physique, making them appear proportioned, muscular and lean. Contestants can add a bit of originality to their poses by adding a signature move; however judges do not grade based on these creative poses.

There are two rounds in the competition. The first round is the swimwear round, which is worth sixty per cent of the competition. In this round, contestants choose their own suits. While doing so, they should think about cuts, colors, styles, patterns and fits that emphasize and highlight their bodies, and hide any unwanted imperfections. Males walk barefoot, and can wear boxer or bikini brief style swimwear.

The second round is the themewear round, which is worth forty per cent. In this section of the competition, athletes wear outfits chosen to highlight their personality, spirit and individuality. And while competitors aren’t judged on the outfits themselves, they can help with one’s score by helping one to stand out to the judges. Remember, though, that although competitors should have fun with this round, their costumes should still show off their physique, being form fitting and not covering too much skin.

These themewear outfits can be simple sportswear to intricate costumes. What is important to the final score is the confidence and personality, as well as the way it is worn. When contestants choose to work with a costume, it is suggested they carry on the theme of their attire with their presentation, walk, turns and attitude. Contestants can even use make-up, footwear and accessories to accentuate their clothing choice. It is important to grab the judges’ attention, without going over the top and thereby losing points. Mainly, this round is meant to be fun!
Tim is an enthusiastic trainer and fitness model based in Southern California. He encourages others to live healthy and fit by leading as a prime example of that lifestyle, but he wasn't always this way.  In 2009, Tim started his journey to become a personal trainer. In the beginning, Tim was not in the best of circumstances. Jobless, 60lbs overweight and desperate to get into shape. Tim got a gym membership. With all his extra time, Tim worked tirelessly to lose the fat and become whom he dreamed of being. After about 10-14 moths, Tim had lost over 210,000 calories! Compelled by his success and driven never to stop. He entered the NASM CPT Program, and became a Professional Fitness Trainer.

In February 2010, Tim created BodiesByTim Fitness Academy. A place where those who wanted to educate themselves and seek a better way to live could do so. Along the way Tim had become an avid runner. Running nearly 50 Half and Full Marathons. Tim’s Running Career includes such titles as being the Inland Empire Running Club (IERC) Athletic Coach, completing the California Beach Cities Series and the La Marathon.

For Tim, fitness modeling didn’t come into play until he was approached by several close friends who felt this would be a great opportunity for him. In 2010, Tim chose to be a volunteer fashion model for Freedom and Fashion's website. The organization, founded by Bonnie Kim, raises awareness about the horrors of modern day slavery. Passionate about this cause after attending their fashion show, Tim immediately began work with Definicion, a company that works hand in hand with those who have survived trafficking. Tim hopes to hopefully become IFBB Pro so he may be a role model and inspire the world to do its BEST!
